What is ADSS Cable?
All-Dielectric Self-Supporting (ADSS) cable is a fully non-metallic
fiber optic cable designed with integrated tensile strength
elements, typically aramid yarns or stranded glass reinforced
plastic rods, arranged within a circular structure. The optical
fibers are generally housed in polymer loose tubes, which are then
protected by the overall cable construction. ADSS cables are ideal
for installation on distribution and transmission lines, even for
live-line conditions. As the name suggests, no separate support or
messenger wire is needed, enabling single-pass installation and
making it a cost-effective and straightforward solution for
building fiber optic networks.
